Mama Bear & Baby Bear
Sun Pillar and crimson Sunset backlighting a Snow Ghost atop Mt. Spokane.
Looking at this 'ghost', I see a Mama Teddy Bear gazing out at the Sunset with a Baby Bear in a backpack gazing out over her left shoulder. Really....I do. :)
Sun Pillar and Sunset from the summit of Mt. Spokane WA.
Just like with clouds, my imagination runs wild with unique shapes of 'Snow Ghosts' like these...this one looks to me like a large snow-covered Teddy Bear on the right, gazing at the Sunset and taking in the warmth.
The Leaning Tree
Beautiful Sunset cloud strata and an opportune Snow Ghost for silhouette atop Mt. Spokane WA.
Hoar frost on Evergreen and cone in the CCC historic area of Mt. Spokane State Park, WA.
Pretty in Pink
Beautiful Sunset light bathes these Snow Ghosts atop Mt. Spokane, WA.
Forest thru the Trees
Final look at a densely forested area devastated by the 2015 Kaniksu Complex Wildfire. Even in death, there is beauty.
Burned but beauty revealed in the wood below as these trees await the salvage operations in the Kaniksu Complex fire region near Usk, WA.
Beauty and the Beast
Another capture from two years down the road in the 2015 Kaniksu Complex Wildfire Burn area. Salvage logging operations are active in the area.
Salt and Pepper
Another striking contrast image from the 2015 Kaniksu Complex Fire Burn area near Usk WA. Winter snows provide a healing blanket each year to the charred landscape.
While not a Monochrome image this certainly has a feel of it with Snow against charred bark in a burned area from 2015 Wildfires near Usk.
